Inside Look: Redesigned 2018 Toyota Camry | Steve Landers Auto Group

The Toyota Camry has been America’s favorite sedan for a while now—it’s safe, affordable, reliable… all good things. But until the 2018 redesign, it’s never been this exciting. It’s more stylish than ever, and it’s more advanced than ever. Steve Landers Auto Group is here to give you the inside scoop on the 2018 redesign of the Toyota Camry. Keep reading to learn more about the amazing new model!

Exterior

The Camry really stepped up its game this time, and the exterior styling of the 2018 model is like nothing we’ve ever seen from a family sedan. Toyota wanted to make sure the word “bland” could never be associated with the Camry in any way, and they succeeded. The new car is sleek and funky, wrapped in sweeping curves and chiseled surfaces. The body is longer, lower and wider; creating that modern sunken profile. The available gloss-black grille with exquisite mesh insert takes the aggressive look to an even more daring level. You can opt for the sportier SE and XSE models, which have a revised rear bumper, small lip spoiler on the back, and sill extensions below the doors. You can also select available LED taillights that are eye-catchingly unique and useful.

Interior

The Camry’s innovative styling doesn’t stop with the exterior. When you enter the sedan, you’re introduced to a whole new world of sleek. The dash design immediately grabs your attention—a huge difference from the previous slab-like design. The 2018 center stack angles toward the driver in a triangular shape, curving away from the passenger’s seat to create a feeling of spaciousness. The controls are all very driver-centric, so it’s all about you when you’re behind the wheel. The 8-inch touchscreen mimics the screen of a smartphone, so it’ll feel familiar right off the bat. Available head-up display projects important information directly onto the windshield so you don’t have to take your eyes off the road. It will tell you things like how fast you’re going and where you need to turn next.

TNGA

A lot has changed about the Camry, but perhaps one of the most significant changes is something you can’t see. The 2018 Toyota Camry is the first TNGA-inspired vehicle that’s made in America. TNGA, or Toyota New Global Architecture, is a new take on automobile hardware. The goal is that Toyota manufacturing plants will become more flexible and responsive to changes in the marketplace because of the production of better vehicles based on common platforms with common parts. Toyota boasts that TNGA is built on two main pillars, core strength and emphasized personality. Because improvement of the basic core will raise the level of all Toyotas, engineers are able to focus on building up the appeal of each model.
